SRI AUROBINDO SOCIETY

Sri Aurobindo Society, with its headquarters at Pondicherry is an international organization having its Branches and Centres all over the world. It was established in 1960 by the Mother to bring together individuals and institutions inspired by the ideals of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother not only to spread their teachings and message among the people but also to implement in a concrete manner. What is aimed at is integral development and perfection o individual through synthesis of spiritual and material life, social transformation and development of collective life, spiritual and material regeneration of India and realization of human unity in a harmonized and organized diversity.

The Society is registered under the Society Registration Act 1860, is a non profit institution and its membership is open to all without discrimination of nationality, religion caste, creed or sex. The Society is a member of UNESCO as a Non Government Organization (NGO). Sri Aurobindo Centre at Baroda, which was working since 1935, was converted into the Branch of the Society in 1960.
